Mental skills training (MST) can be of value to those seeking to enhance or restore performance, as well as those in roles that contribute directly to performers' enjoyment and experience. This includes:

Learning and practicing mental skills can bring greater awareness to our thought and behavior patterns. The development of these skills helps with managing thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, which can lead to improved levels of resiliency and fulfillment. Ultimately, putting time and energy into training the mind, alongside the body, supports the process of optimizing performance, well-being, and personal growth, and creates a sense of preparedness to overcome difficult or novel situations when they arise. 

There are a variety of topics and skills that may be addressed in sessions or workshops, and it's important to note that MST is not one-size-fits-all.

How does mental skills training work?

Embark offers team & group training sessions as well as one-on-one sessions. Sessions with groups and individuals may be one-off or recurring, such as weekly or bi-weekly, typically lasting 50-60 minutes. 
 

Based on presenting needs, goals, strength and growth areas, sessions will consist of teaching and practicing appropriate mental skills that support consistent, peak performance and might also include a counseling approach, where together, we talk through concerns, identify breakdowns impacting performance, and find solutions that support your pursuit of excellence. 

In recurring sessions, we will continuously monitor and assess progress and adjust your personalized mental skills program as needed.

You can expect to leave with tangible takeaways so outside of our work together you feel prepared to apply your new or refined skills in your performance context and beyond.
